Hi, I'm Kazi Abdus Samad

As a researcher and multimedia expert, I am motivated by a profound curiosity about the converging domains of international relations, environmental resilience, mental health, and digital storytelling. I am currently the Assistant Coordinator at the Bangladesh Centre for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA), where I oversee projects that connect academic research with public engagement and policy formulation.

In addition to having a B.S.S. in International Relations from Jahangirnagar University, I am also pursuing an M.S.S. in the same area where my thesis work has been focused on the geopolitical and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence in global power contestations. These academic pursuits are supplemented with relevant and applied research experience, such as a government program on coastal communities in education for climate change. Much of my work has been focused on converting complicated theories into practical insights and pedagogically adequate resources for communities to adapt and thrive under changing conditions.

However, besides my academic endeavors, I am a passionate storyteller. I co-founded initiatives like the International Relations Film Circle and Think Like a Theorist, which would interface creativity with critical analysis to engage the most complex ideas. Photographs, cinematography, and visual media narrate issues featuring socio-political challenges, environmental threats, and the conditions for enabling resilience. One such technique reaches multiple audiences through exhibitions and goes beyond that to use a digital medium.
